Qatar Declares School Holiday on November 5 for Constitutional Referendum

As announced by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, all public and private schools in Qatar will observe a holiday on November 5, 2024.

This decision is intended to encourage citizen participation in the upcoming constitutional amendment referendum on the same day.

The holiday will apply to both academic and administrative school staff but will not extend to universities and higher education institutions.

The referendum offers Qatari citizens aged 18 and above the chance to vote on proposed amendments to the nation’s permanent constitution. Voting hours will be from 7 AM to 7 PM, with options available for both in-person voting and remote voting via the “Metrash2” app.
