Visitor Trends
The first eight months of 2024 recorded 3.284 million visitors, showcasing a 26% growth compared to the same period in 2023. This surge set the stage for higher arrivals in the latter part of the year, supported by favorable weather conditions. Saudi Arabia topped the list of visitor sources, followed by India, Bahrain, the UK, the US, and others, including China and the UAE.
Driving Factors Behind Growth
Qatar’s simplified visa policies, such as the Hayya platform, have made visiting easier for tourists. Nationals from 102 countries enjoy visa-free entry, while others benefit from e-visas. Additionally, diverse tourism offerings, world-class events, and excellent connectivity through Qatar Airways and Hamad International Airport have significantly enhanced the travel experience.
Looking Ahead
Experts predict continued growth, with total arrivals for 2024 expected to reach 4.5 million and possibly climb to 4.9 million by 2025. This trend underscores Qatar’s commitment to becoming a leading tourist destination in the region.
