types of traffic fines in qatar

Road traffic accidents have significantly declined since Qatar adopted safety measures and followed speed limits and seatbelt laws. The credit goes to Qatar traffic police, as hefty fines and a point system have driven this compliance. Understanding these rules is essential for drivers to avoid financial consequences.

Drivers should stick to their designated lanes and are strictly prohibited from using the other part of the road where traffic flows in the opposite direction. Driving a motor in the opposite direction is a severe offense and can be penalized for up to QAR 6,000 and 6 demerit points.
